What is LINE?
LINE is a free messaging app that allows you to send one-on-one and group texts to friends and family. LINE also supports free voice and video calls in addition to photo and video sharing and news access. It is available for a variety of smartphone devices including iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Nokia, and even your PC.
What does this Integration do?
This integration allows for bi-directional communication between LINE and Boomtown’s Relay platform, and it enables inbound LINE messages to funnel into your teams’ Relay inboxes and even create support tickets in Relay. Support agents using the Boomtown Relay software can directly interact with LINE users from Relay chatrooms.
If your team uses the LINE app, this is an incredibly powerful integration that can boost the efficiency of your team members’ communication, and allow your customers to create tickets and interact with your support team through the LINE app.
How do I set up this messaging integration?
This integration resembles our Facebook Messenger integration from a functional standpoint. Users will be able to message directly to Relay team rooms and create support tickets when they need help.
To set up the messaging integration:
Go to Teams -> Edit Team -> Integrations -> Add
Select Line App in the drop-down.
Enter the Channel ID, Channel Secret, and Channel Access token which you can find in the account information in LINE.
Select the configuration of Auto-Create Issues (Yes/No) depending on the Team preference.
If Auto-Create Issues is set to Yes, then you will need to select the issue type and owner team in order to route the issue to the right audience.
If Auto-Create Issues is set to No, then the incoming chats from the LINE app will go directly to the team’s public chatroom.
